We've arranged for there to be three choices for those of you coming to Glasgow for the weekend in partnership with both Glasgow and Strathclyde Universities. Whatever your budget and whether your preference is single room or apartment, west end or city centre, we want to make sure that plump pillows, morning coffee and rejuvinating showers feature in your Indian Summer experience. The first is at Carincross House, part of Glasgow University, which year round is a halls of residence for students. It's a bargain at only £16.25 per person per night, which is a bit cheaper than a Youth Hostel would cost you, but no dorm beds here: you can chose either a single or twin room. Bathrooms are shared, and there's also kitchens on each floor. All linen is provided. Have a look at the halls by following the link: they're simple, comfortable and in a great location beside loads of bars and a stones throw from the student hot-spot that is Kelvingrove park. Check out the Ben Nevis Bar for a wee dram or The Goat bar for an awesome fry-up. It's also right on the no. 62 or 9 bus route, which should take you to within 5 minutes of the event location. http://www.cvso.co.uk/accommodation/residences/res_cairn.htmThere are also single bedrooms available at John Anderson campus, which is part of Strathclyde University and is also a term-time hall for students. Rates are a pleasing £16 for room only, or £22 if you fancy a braw home-cooked breakfast on top. Staying here you'll be right in the city-centre of Glasgow and can easily do a spot of shopping or check out the Gallery of Modern Art pre-event. At night you'd be crazy not to check out late night venues like the Subclub, Barfly, or The Arches since you'll only be a stones throw away... To travel to the West End for the event take the train from Queen St to Jordanhill, or the subway from Buchanan St to Partick - both less than 5/10 minutes walk away... http://www.rescat.strath.ac.uk/village_accom.htmlThe third is Queen Margaret Residence, which is a tad further up the price scale at £30.99 per person per night, a little less than a B&B would cost in Glasgow. Here there are apartments of 5 single rooms, each with their own lounge. The max number of people per apartment is 5. A simple continental breakfast in included in this price. It's located around 5 minutes from the Botanic Gardens in the West End, and from there it's a short journey to Byres Road where you'll find loads of pubs and restaurants, especially on the quaint cobbled Ashton Lane. You could get a taxi from the residences or get the underground from Hillhead (Byres Road) to Partick and you're 5/10 minutes from the venue. http://www.cvso.co.uk/accommodation/residences/res_qmr.htmYou must quote "Indian Summer Offer" when booking. It's your choice how many days you book in for, and payment is made at time of booking. We already expect all the people coming to Indian Summer to be respectful towards others, but please to remember to keep noise at an acceptable level, no matter how many shandies you've had.
